George Ciresi, PT, DPT, MSPT, SFMA

Dr. George Ciresi is the cofounder and co-owner of Professional Care Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, PC. He was born and raised in East Patchogue, NY and is a graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School. George attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut and in 2001 received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology with honors. He was then accepted into the Graduate Physical Therapy program at Sacred Heart University and in 2003 received a Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy with honors. Prior to graduation, he was selected to complete his orthopedic clinical affiliation at the prestigious Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, in Birmingham, Alabama under the supervision of world renowned Orthopedist, Dr. James Andrews. His patients included professional athletes from Major League Baseball, including players with the New York Yankees; National Football League; National Basketball Association; National Hockey League; World Wrestling Entertainment; NASCAR; PGA tour; ATP tennis and college athletes from around the country. In 2003, George began his professional career as a Physical Therapist while concurrently completing his Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions graduating at Harvard University in 2006.

Prior to cofounding Professional Care Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Dr. Ciresi had been the Executive Director of a Physical Therapy practice in Great Neck, NY. He is currently a Clinical Instructor and Center Coordinator of Clinical Education for Stony Brook University, Hunter College and CUNY Physical Therapy programs. While he enjoys treating a wide variety of diagnoses, Dr. Ciresi specializes in post-operative rehabilitation and sports injuries of the shoulder, knee and elbow, as well as possessing a strong interest in manual physical therapy techniques for the lumbar and cervical spine.

Dr. Ciresi has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2003, as well as being a member of the New York Chapter of the APTA, Orthopedic, Sports Physical Therapy and Private Practice sections of the APTA. He is also a nationally certified Golf Performance Specialist and enjoys helping golfers improve their game.

Dr. Ciresi currently lives in Miller Place with his wife Julie and two children. He is extremely proud to be contributing to the health and wellness of the community in which he was raised and currently serves as a Trustee on the Board of Directors of the Patchogue-Medford Hall of Fame. When not treating patients, he enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, boating, playing golf and traveling.
