Physical Therapy

Dr. George Ciresi, PT, DPT, MSPT, SFMA, Co-founder, Co-owner Professional Care Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation and ProCare Occupational Therapy

Dr. George Ciresi is the co-founder and co-owner of Professional Care Physical Therapy & ProCare Occupational Therapy. He was born and raised in East Patchogue, NY, and is a graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School. Dr. Ciresi received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Physiology graduating with Honors from Sacred Heart University in 2001. While at Sacred Heart, he was a member of the Division 1AA baseball team.  He received his Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy graduating with Honors from the Graduate Physical Therapy program at Sacred Heart University in 2003.  During Graduate School, he was selected to complete his Orthopedic clinical affiliation at the prestigious Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Center, under the supervision of world-renowned Orthopedist, Dr. James Andrews. His patients included professional athletes from Major League Baseball, including the New York Yankees, the NFL, NBA, NHL, WWE, NASCAR, PGA Tour, ATP tennis, and college athletes from around the country.

George began his professional career as a Physical Therapist while concurrently completing his Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions graduating at Harvard University in 2006.  He currently maintains certifications in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and in Body Balance for Performance golf training.

Dr. Ciresi is currently a Clinical Instructor and Center Coordinator of Clinical Education for Sacred Heart University, Stony Brook University, and other local Physical Therapy programs. While he enjoys treating a wide variety of diagnoses, Dr. Ciresi specializes in post-operative rehabilitation and sports injuries of the shoulder, knee, and elbow, and possesses a strong interest in manual physical therapy techniques for the lumbar and cervical spine.

Dr. Ciresi has been a member of the American Physical Therapy Association since 2003, as well as a member of the New York Chapter of the APTA, Orthopedic, Sports Physical Therapy, and Private Practice sections of the APTA.  He serves as a Trustee on the board of the Patchogue-Medford Hall of Fame and is actively involved in the local community.  Dr. Ciresi was honored with the “2016 Alumni Achievement Award” from Sacred Heart University which recognizes graduates of SHU who have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in their profession and use their knowledge, professional skills, creative talents, and humanistic strengths to make a difference in their career and their community.
