Dr. Jaclyn Calabrese, PT, DPT

Dr. Jaclyn Calabrese grew up in Smithtown, New York, graduating from Smithtown High School East. Upon graduation, Dr. Calabrese attended the University of Scranton, where she played Women’s lacrosse for 4 years, and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and a Minor in Psychology.  She then went on to attend The University of Scranton’s Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program, graduating in May 2016. While at Scranton, Jaclyn was a grad assistant for the women’s lacrosse team she once played for, assisting with athletic injuries, and with coaching. 

Dr. Calabrese was able to attain clinical experience with multiple affiliations while attending Scranton University, including Syosset Hospital.  There, she worked with total joint patients in their orthopedic hospital and acute rehab, as well as at Winthrop Hospital. She performed her outpatient affiliation at Island Sports Physical Therapy, and her pediatric affiliation at a special needs school in New Jersey working with physically handicapped children with a variety of diagnoses including Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, and Down Syndrome.  Combined with her outpatient experience during her education and her per-diem experience at Professional Care Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation, Dr. Calabrese is experienced in treating patients post-arthroscopic surgery, patients post joint replacement surgery, patients with gait and balance limitations, and patients with chronic pain.

Dr. Calabrese currently works with the Professional Care Physical Therapy Team as a part-time Physical Therapist, in addition to working as a full-time Pediatric Physical Therapist at Brookville Children’s Center, and brings her expertise in Pediatrics to our outpatient clinic.  

She loves to continue her education and the ability to work in a variety of settings with a variety of patients. She has taken many courses on Pediatric handling techniques including an NDT course by Lois Bly. She recently took a course provided by Cure Duchenne’s which is an organization recognized as a global leader in research, patient care, and innovation for improving and extending the lives of those with Duchenne. She recently passed their course and is a Certified Cure Duchenne Physical Therapist. Dr. Calabrese spends her free time working on her own personal fitness goals as she is an avid runner.
