Dr. Ryan McCarty grew up in Wantagh, NY, where he graduated from Wantagh High School in 2018. The next chapter in his journey to becoming a physical therapist includes attending the University of Delaware, where he graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science, with a concentration in exercise science and a minor in business administration. After graduating from the University of Delaware, he was accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Stony Brook University, where he is set to earn his DPT in May 2025.
Throughout his journey in the DPT program, Ryan enjoyed four exceptional clinical experiences that have shaped him into the professional he is today. He worked at two outpatient orthopedic clinics: All Star Physical Therapy in Syosset and Physical Solutions in Bethpage and Mineola. Additionally, he completed a subacute clinical at The Grand Pavilion, a nursing home located in Rockville Center. His final outpatient experience was at North Fork Physical Therapy in Cutchogue, NY, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with a hand specialist and a McKenzie-certified physical therapist.
Ryan’s journey into physical therapy began during his childhood, immersed in sports and witnessing friends and teammates recover from injuries, where he recognized the crucial role of physical therapists in that journey. His current interests in the field encompass treating patients across all ages and diagnoses, with a particular focus on sports rehabilitation, neuro rehabilitation, and gait and balance. Outside of physical therapy, Ryan enjoys golfing, exercising, playing sports, watching movies, and attending live sports events and concerts. He is eager to join the compassionate team at Professional Care and is committed to delivering the highest quality of care, helping each patient achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life.
